In collaboration with the Gay and Lesbian Singers of WA choir, we are delighted to announce that we will be capturing stories from people with a connection to the choir or who otherwise identify themselves as LGBTQI+ and are interested in sharing their stories and memories. Get in touch to join us for an informal, one to one story sharing experience and be part of a glorious celebration of the choir’s 25th anniversary - a multimedia bonanza later in the year!
The results of our beautiful workshops in York this April and May will be on display at the Town Hall as part of the glorious York Festival this year.

Are there some things about life in York you'd like to share? Or perhaps you have some family folklore, fantastic town stories, or vivid memories from your early life?
The York Festival and Know Your Nation are celebrating WA's oldest inland town, and would love to uncover more of York's vibrant living history. Share your York stories over a cuppa at our workshops on the weekends of April 29th & 30th April and May13th & 14th, and your story could form part of the "York Conversations" exhibition at The York Festival in September. All we need is just over an hour of your time - and your favourite story about life in our favourite town.

Together with the City of Vincent we are recording the personal stories and memories of some of the key local creatives so that we can preserve their experience on film and share short stories with you from their past. Watch this space!
Together with the Friends of Edenvale, the Murray District's Historical Society and the Shire of Murray, Know Your Nation is creating a special display in the old drawing room of Edenvale Homestead, Pinjarra. We are looking for objects and photographic portraits on loan or donation from the region that date between 1890 and 1940 for the display, with a story associated. Get in touch if you can help!

As one of a series of wonderful events hosted with thanks to Ruah Community Services, this evening will see an exhibition of stories and portraits of past Know Your Nation participants from the Town, together with live music, great food and yarning around a camp fire. Listening to a cross section of stories of Perth’s people is a reminder that despite changes to the city’s landscape, certain fundamental characteristics of the people of Perth remain unchanged. Whether a story from the turn of the century or though to the last few years, the ability of Perth people to make a mark on the city is reflected throughout the stories we share. Ours is a history of pioneering, sharing, serving and pushing boundaries. The twelve storytellers provide just one snapshot of this fascinating place we call home.
Ever wondered what life was like for your parents or grandparents growing up? Reckon some of their stories should be recorded and shared for others to enjoy or learn from? We are recording stories of people who live in the Town of Victoria Park and would love to hear from you! We need you and a friend or loved one with a story you would like to capture, and an hour of your time.
